208th Post

Twenty players started today and Mike arrived later, as expected.  This was a great turnout in cloudy conditions.  Tony remains in the lead on 157 points after week four.
We hope to have a public event on Sunday July 14th Bastille Day similar to last year where we encourage members of the public to try the game.
We played 3 x 6 and Tony and Tom played on piste 4 awaiting Mike's fore-warned, arrival as a third player.  We could have played 4 x 5 and awaited his arrival but while we have a good system for playing in fives the general consensus is that players prefer regular, structured even-numbered games.  Of course that is not always possible but it is more easily organised when players are on site by 9.50 and we know what we're dealing with.
Holiday time is approaching and various players will be be absent for periods over the summer.  The France trip will rob the group of seven players for one week. The best 6/9 scores for each competition hopefully allows for absences etc.
Kitty joined us for the chat at Olive's Room after the boules and we wished her well on her trip away.

The suspense is unbearable awaiting the division of cards!

Low scoring ...Dave Style!
The ref is at the ready to separate them!
We discovered that the pylons being erected by the Boules Area are related to............................
So the conspiracy theory that the French Boules Federation were spying on us proved unfounded.

My thanks to Dave for the following photos and his willingness to continue with a photographic record, in my absence next month, including taking a photo of each score sheet so I can continue the blog remotely.

'White' Gold, Silver and Bronze.....
