211th Post

Since play in Dublin was rain-affected I'll have to report from play in France!
Five of our group along with two others travelled from June 7th to June 14th.
We played boules on five days and visited Perpignan city on the wet Tuesday.  We also visited Collioure, the picture postcard venue, for a morning.
The proximity of the hotel to the Boules area and the beach was a major plus to the holiday.
We ate and drank our way through some of the restaurants along the port.  The soporific effect of the wine, boules and ozone meant all were fit for the bed by the end of each day.
The visitors, Valerie and Eilish, both played with us and three Irish; John, Catherine and Séamus, who holiday in the region, joined us and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Following a chance meeting with St. Cyprien Tourism at the Holiday Fair in Dublin they asked us to make ourselves known to them on our arrival.  The upshot was that the Mayor and his team provided us with aperitifs one evening and Brogan played the Marseillaise in their honour.
Catherine easily won the competition scoring 143 over the 5 days play with various partners.
Hopefully the following photos give credence to the report....
