LOCKDOWN SPECIAL ..........

The sun is out; conditions are great; the park is looking great but the invisible virus has scuppered our normal lives and prevented us coming together to play Boules each Wednesday in the park.

As we approach the May Bank Holiday weekend 2020 [remember the year!] we can see from the  pictures the message of 'social distancing' is dominating our lives.

Hopefully with the announcement from the Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, today, that play may start in June / July with people being able to play/practice singly before that.

With construction being permitted from May 5th it would be brilliant if the enhancement of the facility was possible in the immediate future!!

Here's the thoughts of a fellow boules player from Bath in U.K.  Sounds familiar!!

Hi Folks What no boules
Ground Hog Day
I threw my legs out of bed this morning and sat on the side, as I do these days , waiting for the body to become used to being upright .
Now , I thought, what’s happening today - sod all on these virus days - sod all !!!!!!!
Ground Hog Day - rang that electric alarm clock that I had smashed to bits yesterday - smashed to bits yes I did !
I got up, headed for the bathroom and found my upper teeth laughing at me from the cabinet shelf - where they smile every each way the same, every day as they did yesterday !
I Looked into the mirror nothing changed - but fortunately no one outside will visit, to see what I see today. One blessing I thought.
Then I looked at the number of deaths recorded yesterday - over 800 = over eight hundred people sadly died .
Brushing my few hairs left on my nut , I looked back in the mirror . The reflection spoke back at me and sort of startled me.
Your Still Here you lucky Sod
