Le Boulou: A 31-year-old man killed by the explosion of a petanque ball
A man lost his life on Thursday afternoon in a tragic accident during a barbecue in a particular garden.
The drama occurred this Thursday around 13 hours in the town of Boulou. According to the first elements, a man was having a family barbecue in the garden of his house. However, petanque balls would have remained inside the barbecue that would have been heated in the fire. One would have exploded like a bomb throwing shards of metal.
The unfortunate, aged 31, was then reached at the level of the skull. The alert was immediately given to the firefighters who were rushed to the scene in emergency, joined by a doctor from Samu aboard the helicopter Dragon 66 civil security. In spite of all their efforts to revive him, the helpers could only note his death.
Three children aged 8 and 10 who were on the scene, the father of the latter and the mother of the victim who, pre-warned, immediately rushed on the spot, were all taken care of and transported to the hospital center of Perpignan for psychological help.
The gendarmerie services of Boulou made the necessary findings for the investigation which would have quickly concluded to an accidental death.
